The Arizona Amethyst comes from a small mine in the Four Peaks mountains, which are just northeast of the valley. Peridot comes from the San Carlos reservation, located near globe. And, interestingly enough, garnet is "mined" in the Four Corners area by ants! The little guys move the rough garnet to the surface as they dig their hills, and it can be collected by hand.
